Meet Our Pediatric Dentist in Charlotte
Dr. Somtochukwu “Somie” Agunwah brings a rare healthcare background to pediatric dentistry. Before becoming a dentist, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and worked as a critical care registered nurse in the Washington DC area.
Her years in nursing shaped the way she listens, explains care, and supports families. Later, she completed her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at Howard University College of Dentistry. Her love for working with children led her to complete two additional years of pediatric dentistry residency training in Brooklyn, New York.
Today, Dr. Somie provides individualized pediatric dental care with a calm, thoughtful, and family-centered approach. She understands that every child responds differently, and she takes pride in helping children feel more comfortable in the dental setting.
